Problem
PAH in an old property with a tar product in the walls gave an unusual smell inside the building. The smell remained even after the tar was removed.
Measured PAH: 1726 ng/m3
(naphthalene, acenaphthylene, acenaphthene, fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, pyrene, biphenyl, dibenzofuran)
Measure
cTrap was installed on approximately 75 percent of the wall surface. After the measure, the odor complaints stopped.
An important factor in the choice of measure was that the barrier should be open to water vapour.
Measured PAH = 139 ng/m3
