Problem
There was a strong and pungent smell in the stairwells. The wooden structure had been treated with a wood preservative which gave off a strong odor of chloranisoles.
Measure
Two remediation methods were compared:
- In the first, the treated material was removed – but the smell remained.
- In the second, the treated material was kept but covered with cTrap – and the odor disappeared.
